I support families with young children by helping parents navigate the often-challenging

task of understanding their child’s emotions—particularly during moments of anger, tears, or frustration. These behaviors, while difficult, are a child’s way of communicating unmet needs, confusion, or emotional overwhelm.

Through a compassionate and insightful approach, I guide parents in interpreting these behaviors, uncovering the underlying emotions, and responding in ways that foster trust and security. By shifting the focus from frustration to understanding, parents can strengthen their bond with their children, build a more peaceful home environment, and equip their little ones with the emotional tools they need to thrive.

With practical strategies and empathetic guidance, I empower parents to replace reactive discipline with thoughtful, constructive responses, reinforcing their child’s confidence and emotional resilience. This transformation not only nurtures a child’s well-being but also lays the foundation for lifelong emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and positive relationships.

As a result of therapy, parents can enjoy more connection, ease, and fun with their family.

This work is pro-active and preventative care, creating positive bonds that can last a lifetime.

Children develop greater confidence, resilience, and self-regulation, building a strong foundation for lifelong success. With the right tools to express themselves and make positive choices, they grow into emotionally intelligent and empowered individuals.

My experience as a parenting educator

My approach to parenting support is shaped by three key areas of experience.

First, my journey as a parent, enriched by active participation in a parenting support group while raising my daughter, gave me firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of raising children.

Second, through studying DW Winnicott and other attachment theorists, I learned about the crucial nature of tuning into our children; of hearing what they have to say about their lives and engaging with that. Being a parent became an important, dyadic experience.

Third, through my two decades of work with young children and families in the City of Philadelphia, where I served as a parent educator and counselor for families in crisis and at risk of abuse, I witnessed the profound impact of educating parents on children’s emotional needs and developmental milestones.

By bridging these experiences, I help parents cultivate a more harmonious and supportive family environment, fostering deeper connections and healthier emotional development for their children.
